Technical Requirements

Everything you need to know about system specifications, software compatibility, and technical setup for our web accessibility learning programs

Platform Specifications

Our learning environment runs smoothly on most modern devices. You don't need a high-end workstation, but there are some baseline requirements that ensure you get the best experience during hands-on coding sessions and accessibility testing.

We've designed our platform to work across different operating systems and browsers. The key is having stable internet and enough processing power to run screen readers alongside development tools without lag.

Most students find that their existing laptops work perfectly fine. However, if you're planning to upgrade anyway, we can point you toward configurations that will serve you well beyond our program.

Getting Technical Support

Vera handles all our technical setup questions. She's helped hundreds of students get their development environments running smoothly, often solving issues that seemed impossible at first.

Before our September 2025 program starts, we'll schedule individual tech check sessions. This gives everyone a chance to test their setup and resolve any compatibility issues in a pressure-free environment.

  • One-on-one setup assistance via screen sharing
  • Custom installation guides for unique system configurations
  • Backup solutions for older hardware limitations
  • Alternative tool recommendations when standard options don't work
  • Ongoing technical support throughout the program

Advanced Configuration Options

While basic setups work fine for learning, some students prefer more elaborate configurations. Multiple monitors can be helpful for comparing screen reader output with visual designs, and certain accessibility testing workflows benefit from additional screen real estate. We'll cover optimization strategies that match your specific interests and career goals.

Collaborative Testing Environment

Real accessibility work happens in teams. Our program includes group projects where you'll test websites using different assistive technologies simultaneously. This means coordinating between various operating systems, screen readers, and testing approaches. We'll teach you to document findings effectively and communicate technical issues clearly with developers and designers.

Questions About Compatibility?

Not sure if your current setup will work? Want to discuss upgrade options? We're happy to review your specific situation and suggest the most cost-effective approach.
